Ludo Bites America

Ludo and Krissy

Has anyone been watching Ludo Bites on the Sundance Channel? I just watched my first episode where he and Krissy (his wife) were at Big Mama’s Kitchen in Omaha and I loved it. Made for some interesting TV and was funny to see how the restaurant owners reacted to Chef Ludo and his style. He can be a little rough around the edges but definitely has a heart.

Looking forward to watching more. *mouth waters*

Just getting home from the first ever “Grown Up’s Table” dinner at Beckett’s Kitchen, I have this strong urge to curl up on the sofa, turn on the TV and drift into a foodie coma. Rest assured Ill be doing that here in  a few but first I wanted to help spread the word about this outstanding experience.

Fun With Food: Foodzie Tasting Box (May)

I know, I know.. what’s a Tasting Box? Well Ill put your mind at ease, I’m not chowing down on some delicious corrugated (though I hear they taste like chicken). Review: Hana Japanese Eatery

What’s raw, slick and makes you feel good all over? It’s sushi! From trendy scenester food to its current mainstay presence, sushi has been a part of the dining scene for ages. Sushi may have been around the block a few times, still maintains its excitement and intrigue.

For me, Hana Japanese Eatery puts the amore in enamored and the fat into infatuated.

Review: Beckett’s Table

Well once again I’m the last one to the party. Beckett’s Table has been buzzing away since opening in the old That’s Italiano space late last year. I’ve tried so many times to get in but for whatever reason or another didn’t make it. Well finally made it in and I have to say, I wish I hadn’t been so damn fashionably late.

A couple of notable things, the space is killer, rustic-industrial and second, the waiters are hot, especially our beefy ginger waiter Scott, Sam, hmm, maybe Bill? Anyway I can’t remember his name but what I do remember was his attention to detail and service. Looking around you can see that all the servers were attentive and helpful to all their guests. I’m just a sucker for a beard, I mean great service.

Review: Sekong by Night

Over the past few years we’ve been fortunate enough to have so many tasty and diverse Asian restaurants open. Some of my personal favorites are Soi4 for up-scaled Thai street food, Northeaster Thailand delights at Thai-E and chewy hand pulled noodles at China Magic Noodle House just to name a few. Now there is one more specialty to add to the fold, Sekong by Night specializing in Cambodian fare.
